IT Staffing by Location

Contract IT Staffing for Northern Virginia & Washington DC

Kiyansh Group is a US technology-services and IT staffing firm headquartered in Aubrey, Texas. We staff Northern Virginia and Washington DC companies remote-first with senior, US-based talent — and onsite when a role genuinely requires it. We do not run a local office in the DC metro; what we bring is onshore people, senior vetting, and fast turnarounds, not a nearby address.

The Northern Virginia & DC hiring picture

The DC metro is one of the densest technology labor markets in the country, and also one of the most competitive to hire in. Between federal agencies, the systems integrators and prime vendors clustered around the Beltway, and a large commercial base in cloud, cybersecurity, and data, demand for experienced engineers regularly outruns local supply. Salaries and bill rates run high, and the strongest candidates are rarely on the open market for long.

That pressure pushes a lot of teams toward two bad options: overpay for a scarce local hire, or send the work offshore and absorb the coordination and quality cost. A remote-first onshore model is the middle path. It widens the candidate pool well beyond commuting distance to Tysons, Reston, or DC proper, while keeping the people in US time zones, on US employment terms, and reachable during your working day.

We're candid about what remote does and doesn't solve. Work that requires a cleared badge on a secure floor has to be onsite, and we'll say so. Most commercial engineering, cloud, and platform work does not — and for that, insisting on a body in a specific building narrows your options without improving the outcome.

Roles we fill for DC-area teams

We place across the roles DC-area teams most often struggle to staff on contract: senior software and full-stack engineers, cloud and DevOps/platform engineers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform), data engineers, and security-focused engineers. We also place solution architects and technical leads for teams that need someone who can own a design, not just execute tickets.

Our candidates are US-based and vetted by senior engineers before they reach you, including H-1B contractors where that's the right fit for the role and the engagement. You see people who have actually done the work at the level you're hiring for, not a stack of loosely matched resumes forwarded from a database.

Because Kiyansh also builds software with AI-augmented senior teams, we understand the work from the inside. That shows up in how we screen — we can tell the difference between a candidate who can describe a system and one who can build and operate it.

Engagement models: contract, C2H, and direct

We work three ways. Contract is for defined scope or surge capacity — you get a senior person for a set period without adding headcount. Contract-to-hire lets you work alongside someone on a real project before you commit to a full-time offer, which takes most of the risk out of a permanent hire. Direct placement is for roles you already know you want on staff and want filled well.

We also work as a sub-vendor to MSPs and prime vendors on both private-sector and government engagements — a common need in this market, where primes often carry more demand than their own bench can cover. If you're a prime looking to fill seats on a program, we can slot in cleanly behind you.

There's no pressure to pick a model up front. Tell us the problem and the timeline and we'll recommend the structure that actually fits, including telling you when a contractor is the wrong answer and you should just hire.

Why onshore senior-led beats offshore here

Offshore staffing wins on headline rate and loses on almost everything that determines whether the work ships. A ten-hour time difference turns a same-day question into a next-day one, and turns a two-week task into a month of round-trips. For DC-area teams juggling agency stakeholders, security requirements, and tight delivery windows, that lag is expensive in ways the rate card never shows.

Onshore, senior-led staffing removes the hand-offs. Our people work your hours, communicate directly with your team, and are accountable to a senior firm that vetted them — not to a distant delivery manager optimizing for utilization. When something breaks at 2pm Eastern, the person who can fix it is awake and available.

We're not the cheapest option and we don't pretend to be. What we offer is fewer, better people who need less management and produce work you can actually trust in production. For most teams, that math comes out ahead of a larger, cheaper, harder-to-steer offshore group.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Kiyansh have an office in Northern Virginia or DC?

No. We're headquartered in Aubrey, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, and we serve the DC metro remote-first with US-based talent. When a role genuinely requires someone onsite — for example, secure-facility work — we can support that, but we won't claim a local presence we don't have.

Can you place people who need to be onsite or cleared?

For onsite roles, yes, we can source candidates able to work onsite in the DC area. For roles requiring active security clearances, tell us the specific clearance and facility requirement up front; some of that work is genuinely onsite-only, and we'll be straight with you about what we can and can't cover before you spend time.

How fast can you present candidates?

It depends on the role's seniority and any clearance or onsite constraints, but because we vet candidates through senior engineers before they reach you, the shortlist you see is short and relevant. We'd rather send you three people who fit than twenty who might.
